Bridge Into Construction & Inspiring Construction
Bridge into Construction, is a new programme and the result of a partnership between Build UK, the leading representative organisation for the UK construction industry, and Collab Group which represents leading Colleges and College Groups at both a local and national level.
The objective of the programme is simple: to increase the number of young people entering the construction industry. The statistics are shocking. At present at least one third of young people* completing a construction further education course do not continue into employment within the industry. As part of the wider Inspiring Construction campaign bringing colleges and employers together, it will contribute towards recruiting the 150,000** new entrants needed by the industry between now and 2021.
To make this programme a success, Build UK is looking for employers to offer work experience and apprenticeship opportunities to young people on the Bridge into Construction programme.
